Mr. Jordan is the chief community engagement officer at the McKinley Megginson Group. Rodney Jordan additionally is the Superward 7 representative on the Norfolk School Board in Virginia and served as Board Chairman. Mr. Jordan won election to another term on the Norfolk School Board, in the first general election for the school board in over 60 years, on May 3, 2016.

Jordan was originally appointed to the school board in 2012 by the Norfolk City Council.In addition to his service on the school board, he volunteers with the Park Place Civic League, the Norfolk Sister City Association, the Urban League of Hampton Roads, and the Hampton Roads Committee of 200+ Men
